Since Beastmasters can solo throughout their entire career, the question that is most often asked is "Where can I go at level X". This document is here to try and answer that question.

Camp near the Northern San d'Oria zone. Do not attempt Glide Bombs until at least level 18 (some VT-IT at 16/17) and if possible, save the strongest pets for them. Bats only pop at night. Save pugils for orcs if possible.
17-20 Jugner Forest

Land Pugil
Snipper
Screamer

Land Pugil
Snipper

Camp near the lake in the northwest. If you're using Snippers as prey, watch out for Metallic Skin and Scissor Guard - they may make the fight extremely difficult to finish. Also, watch out for the undead that spawn between 20:00 and 4:00.Snipper and Pugs are tough at level 17-18 best to wait till 19 to use as pets.
18-21 Maze of Shakhrami

Stink Bats

Maze Maker
Goblins (Tier 2)

Exceptionally good area. Bats do unusually well against higher level worms, an Even Match can solo a low Tough without any outside help. Only thing to watch for is the amount of burst dmg worms can do. If it's stronger, throw a bat at it and get back out to heal. Very easy exp, should be constantly chaining 3-4 with little effort.

Crane Fly
Hill Lizard

Crane Fly

19-25 Jugner Forest

Stag Beetle

Jugner Funguar

Jugner Funguar

Camp along the secret beach (B-7). The sheep of course have their AoE sleep, so be careful with your enmity. A slept pet can mean a dead master during an unfortunate target shift. Make use of the Field Manual at the outpost when using this camp. Page 4 and 5 will boost your EXP by 500-550 every 8 or so kills. At 20-21 most Sheep and Damselfly will check as Tough.

Zu
Goblins (Tier 2 and Tier 3)

Camp near the beach west of Mhaura, or on the east side of the map.

Zu make for a very decent pet. If you use the command Stay when healing and put distance between you and your pet, Zu will not aggro if they become uncharmed. However, if your pet becomes uncharmed while fighting around other Zu, they will link.

At level 26 there are some EP, DC & EM. That may prove useful for chaining.

Land Worm

Greater Pugil
Wight

You can stay in the first clearing, and on the northeast side. One Clipper can take on two worms. Also, watch for aggro from Giants, Dancing Weapons, and Wights (night only). You may stall out the wights by tossing bats at them, and it is a waste to charm a T bat. Only charm if they're EM otherwise you may lose your charm quickly. Fighting Clippers and Greater Pugil with Clippers is also a possibility to make use of the Field Manual. Can start with Page 1-2 then move onto Page 3 making an extra 650-700 EXP per page.

Berry Grub
Death Wasp

Berry Grub
Death Wasp
Quadav (Tier 3)
Goblin's Bee
Goblins (Tier 3)
Moon Bat

You can stay (F-7).

This is a decent camp, but really easy to get fatal hate from Goblins or Morbol leaving you in the middle of nowhere, and there is a long run to zone to Lower Jeuno. XP with care, or stick to Qufim Island.

26-28 Rolanberry Fields

Poison Leech

Berry Grub
Poison Leech
Goblin's Bee
Goblins (Tier 3)
Clipper

Camp between the 2 lakes at (E-9/10).

Charm a leech and get too it! Leeches will last alot longer against most of the mobs within the surround area. Becareful of Ochus and some of the Goblin's. At 26 Chaining Clippers & Berry Grubs using an EM Poison Leech was very nice experience points.

26-29 North Gustaberg (S)

Ornery Sheep

Caterchipillar 29-31

Goblin's Bat 24-26
Caterchipillar 29-31
Goblin Pathfinder 31-34
Goblin Furrier 31-34
Goblin Shaman 31-34

Enter from Buburimu Peninsula @ F-6 - you need to approach from the East which will bring you into the Maze of Shakhrami @ M-10 and almost at camp! Initially, camp at the zone till you get the hang of it, then move down to the first large room (M-8 where the gobs are) and have at it from the tunnel. There is a second tunnel to your left with a couple more bats.

This is an all-aggro camp - even the pets aggro and link so take care!

27-31 Qufim Island

Greater Pugil
Glow Bat
Clipper
Dark Bats

It will be mostly Pugil on Gigas or Bat on Wight action. Do not melee the Wights.
27-33 Korroloka Tunnel

Jelly
Combat

Combat
Gigas's Spider
Huge Spider
Clipper
Greater Pugil

Start out in the start of the main tunnel and use the strongest Jelly you can find on Combats. A DC jelly can take a T Combat or Spider down easily, but beware of high Charm resist rate. Around 29-30 you'll want to head to the Pugil/Clipper room with Combat pets and you can grab Spiders from the nearby room if you're in a pinch. Fat luck with this, Astral Flow exploiters have largely monopolized this zone.
29-31 Batallia Downs (S)

Stalking Sapling
Lycopodium
Sadfly

Lycopodium
Sadfly
Clipper

Camp on and around the hill at I-9. Lycopodium like to resist charm occasionally, but aren't that bad. Earth Elemental spawns on north side of hill, so watch the casting during Earth weather. There are plenty of mobs on south and east side. This area is right on one end of a Pixie's path, so if you insist on dying, do it to the south east. Lycopodium vs. Clippers on the coast down south. 2-3 Wights pop at night, but not too much trouble. Zone into the Eldieme Necropolis (S) in a pinch.

30-33 Yuhtunga Jungle

Yuhtunga Mandragora

Yuhtunga Mandragora
Ivory Lizard
Goblin Smithy
Goblin Furrier
Death Jacket

Mandragora make great pets at any level. Mandy vs. Mandy will lead to some longer fights but with /whm help a DC mandy can take out a EM/T with little trouble. Watch out for Mandy sleepga; your pet will be dead before you wake up if solo. Dropped Goblin Bombs and Final Sting make those harder fights worth their exp chains. Exp pts can make these camps a tough fight for pets/prey. Nice place to duo bst party in lower 30's. Opo-opo's are possible but usually more trouble than they are worth in exp.
30-33 Carpenters' Landing

Sabertooth Tiger (29-32)
Spinous Pugil (29-31)
Diving Beetle (27-30)

Birdtrap
Spunkie

Stay out near the docks of South Landing. Birdtraps don't aggro or link, so pick your target carefully. Save Even Match pets for Spunkies. If your Charm is reliable, the Diving Beetles are also good against Birdtraps. Beware of the seasonal Water Elemental. Take care of the Tigers, they are mean aggroers!
32-34 Qufim Island

Acrophies

Gigas
Dancing Weapon

Leeches are your best friend.
32-34 Eastern Altepa Desert

Giant Spider

Sand Beetle

Start near Korroloka Tunnel entrance and move out from there slowly. No aggro from beetles, spiders or dhalmels. Spider vs Spider will also do very nicely. 1 dc spider will take out a tough one provided you fight with it. Nearly every spider will check T at 32. Wait until 33 if you can.
33-37 Gusgen Mines

Gallinipper
Myconid

Feu Follet

Go here and fight Feu Follet. These are bombs and use self-destruct. Stand clear and don't worry about pet being alive at end of fight. Dangerous place to XP but 200+ chains are the reward. Also beware of the NM Juggler Hecatomb that spawns in the room as well as Thunder and Earth elementals; extra caution if subbing White Mage. Gallinipper and Myconid both agro to sound, caution advised when charming.
34-36 Lufaise Meadows

Acrophies
Tavnazian Sheep
Miner Bee

Tier 4 Orcs
By the lake. Beware of Thunder Elemental pops. Pets do not aggro. The Bugards also make decent prey, make sure to let the sheep keep hate, will require a pet swap. All pets will check Tough at level 33, best to start this camp at level 34.
34-36 Bibiki Bay

Eft
Island Rarab
Marine Dhalmel

Eft
Island Rarab
Marine Dhalmel
Goblins (Tier 4)

Great place to level if you don't like the aggro in Gusgen. 34 will be on the docks, Eft vs. Eft. Once you have leave at level 35, more of the wildlife will be EM to you. None of your pets aggro, but they do link, so have fun levelling off the gobbies and wildlife. If in a duo you can do Ravens.
35-38 Yuhtunga Jungle

Young Opo-opo
Makara

Stream Sahagin
Creek Sahagin
River Sahagin
Makara

Awesome place to solo right in that area below OP and in front of Sea Serpent Grotto entrance. There is a FoV for 6 makara and 4 sahagin nets you 880 exp bonus. At 35 it will be slim pickings for Young Opo-Opo's to charm but they are around there. Get to 36 and more charming options will open up including Makara's but the Opo-Opo's put out a nice amount of damage.
  • It should be noted that, like Jellies, Young Opo-Opos are highly resistant to Charm. It is not uncommon to mischarm three to seven times even with +15 CHR.
36-40 Sea Serpent Grotto

Royal Leech
Undead Bats
Ironshell

Undead Bats
Spring Sahagin
Lake Sahagin
Pond Sahagin
Ironshell
Ghast

Leeches are amazing lil' creatures. One should be enough per fight. A DC leech will tear apart T Undead Bats with ease. At level 36-37, stick to leeches, bats and Sahagins. 38-40 stay around (F-7) and fight Ghast with the large supply of Royal Leech! Oozes are even match starting at 39 but harder to charm. Pet swaps are often required at the F-7 camp. *Note: Depending on the RMT activity on your server the leeches may be farmed heavily making for a shortage of pets when fighting Ghasts.
39-41 Yhoator Jungle

Yhoator Wasp

Goblin Reaper
Goblin Digger

Camp at (H-8) on the west side of the circular track with the north-south slice through the middle. This is one of those camps that is a bit rough to start off in. Basic tactic is to throw wasps at the goblins until they die or blow up. It will take multiple wasps per goblin. You'll mostly be fighting the Goblin Reapers here. They are Dark Knight type mobs, so watch out for the usual stuff and Absorb-CHR. Don't engage and use Blink or Utsusemi as often as you can. Ninja sub is probably better here, but I did it with White Mage sub. Don't fall off the left side of the circular track, there is a drop down at the southern end that leads to the other side. I avoided the other side due to the BST type goblin with bee pet.
40-43 Yuhtunga Jungle

Soldier Crawler

Goblin Poacher
Goblin Robber
Goblin Reaper

Two locations, one in the West (E-9)is to west of the Outpost and there is one by the Southeast corner (H-11/I-11) zone to Yhoator Jungle. The Camp at (E-9) takes longer to get to but has a much larger area and more mobs to choose from. Great XP. For the best xp stick to killing poachers, it will take 1 em crawler to take out a tough to VT poacher. The Robber and Reaper hit much harder so it will take atleast 2 pets to defeat. The area close to zone has a bomb spawn, this bomb will chew throu dc-em crawlers, best bet is to kill the gobs then take out the bomb, since you will need to swap pets atleast 2 times. (it takes at least 2 crawlers to take a gob out,and crawlers seem to mis-charm even with 16+chr)

Levels 41-50

Levels Area Pets Prey Additional Info
41-43 Crawler's Nest

Death Jacket
Worker Crawler
Maze Lizard

Caveberry
Worker Crawler

Caveberries do link on sound, but two of the pets you can use have natural plantoid Killer. Mayfly and Diremite familiar pets also work great. If Worker Crawler is your prey make sure to use lizard pets. Let pets do the dirty work, saplings have an AOE sleep move. Some of the pets are even match starting at 40 but most of them will be Tough, so best to wait till 41.
41-43 Garlaige Citadel

Wingrats
Siege Bat
Borer Beetle

Siege Bat
Fallen Evacuee
Puroboros
Clockwork Pod
Borer Beetle

Very nice EXP, be careful as Puroburos will aggro magic, even if you're not in the room, and Fallen Evacuees will aggro HP just as easily. Safer to use bats as pets against bombs, beetles, and undead. If you try to fight bats vers bats you will stand a far higher chance of a link and death. And the bats make very good pets.
41-43 North Gustaberg (S)
Coppercap Coppercap In the norther most tip of the map just on the other side of the river fight Coppercaps Vs Coppercaps. Very laid back camp, just charm, dia and sic. Coppercaps will not aggro, but they do link, so take care while fighting to avoid nearby groups of Coppercaps to prevent a huge pile of aggro if your pet uncharms. Watch out for the few goblins and quadav since they are level 60 and up, but easy to avoid.
41-45 Western Altepa Desert

Desert Spider
Desert Dhalmel

Desert Spider
Desert Worm
Desert Dhalmel
Antican Essedarius

Fight outside the Rabao zone (K-5)
41-43 fight spiders vs. spiders and worms with a few aniticans here and there.
43-45 same list but add Dhalmels to your target list.
Good area for /WHM since you have sneak at this level and most mobs aggro to sound.
It is also possible to use this as a casual experience spot until at least level 58 using page 1 of the Field Manual outside of Rabao. While Spiders and Antican Essedarius' won't give huge exp individually, they are numerous and die very easily, especially if you charm a Tulwar Scorpion or Cactuar. Pages can be completed in as little as five minutes for a healthy 920 experience and 400-600 experience total (conservative estimate) from the mobs themselves. A very solid spot for those who like to wander away from the game frequently without danger.

43-45 Sanctuary of Zi'Tah

Lesser Gaylas
Ogrefly
Myxomycete
Goobbue Parasite

Goblin Reaper
Goblin Trader
Goblin Reaper
Goblin Poacher

Camp Around Outpost (H-9)
There is a spot if you look at section F-9, a small narrow path there. If you run by choco you will notice it is actually a dip there between that section and the section with the gobs. I would recommend working from that spot to pull in the gobs, I have not seen anything spawn there, save for an occasional Hell Hound (if your HP is yellow, it may be close enough to seek you). If you decide to fight the hell hound, take caution: the Hound's level varies quite a bit. Also, let your pet fight and keep your distance. The Hell Hound has a very powerful AoE Paralyze attack that can wreck your ability to charm pets. If you try to charm while paralyzed you may very well find yourself with two angry mobs to fight! You will find that the outpost is rather unsafe at times since monsters can sometimes spawn bascially inside the NPC area. Always have a instant warp scroll or teleport capabilities handy in this place.

43-45 Attohwa Chasm

Doom Scorpion
Ogrefly (level 45 only!)

Ogrefly
Hunter Antlion

Camp area is approx. the northwest corner of (K-10). To get there you have to proceed up the ramps along the side of Parradamo Tor (ramps start at K-9), and just follow the path counterclockwise toward the top until you can drop off past the boulder wall into your target area. A few notes: (1) There are 3-4 Doom scorpions to charm. Solo, that is enough, but if you duo this area, make sure you have jug pets for the occasional respawn-wait. (2) The cracked ground below the stone arch (you'll see it near the scorpions) can hide a Pit Antlion. The location of the Pit Antlion can vary; however, because once it leaps out from one place it will respawn somewhere else. In otherwords, if it pops out and you kill/charm it, it should respawn somewhere else and no longer be a problem. Just beware of it the first time you enter the camp. (3) Overall, this was an excellent camp with little aggro (scorps only) and no competition. Just watch for Ogrefly links and don't play with the Lizzies until 44-45. Enjoy!

45-47 Yhoator Jungle

Young Opo-opo
Worker Crawler

Master Coeurl
Goblin Poacher
Goblin Robber
Goblin Reaper

By the SW zone to Yuhtunga Jungle. More great gobbie XP. Be careful if charming Young Opo-Opo, they are strong and are fairly hard to charm. The best camp seems to be at F-10, there are two Young Opo-Opo, as well as some crawlers behind that camp. E-11 is where the zone is, so if you get in trouble you know where to run. Also beware of the Anemone, he roams near that camp, so prob best to bring some silent pots (unless you're subbing /whm or /rdm) and have your pet pull.
45-47 East Ronfaure (S)

Colibri
Ladybug

Colibri
Ladybug

Area is along the Cheval River. Ladybugs make good pets during the day and good prey at night. This is a great camp. During the day the Ladybug will aggro to sound, and will also use Nepenthean Hum which is an AoE Amesnia effect. Having this effect obviously impacts your ability to charm and could easily leave you fighting multiple mobs. It is advisable to let your pet fight as you keep your distance. At night the Ladybugs are weaker and seem to use Nepenthean Hum less often and make for easy xp. The skeletons that appear at night pose no real threat to you, and can easily be avoided.
46-49 Gustav Tunnel

Labyrinth Leech
Makara
Labyrinth Lizard
Hell Bat
Greater Gaylas
Hawker

Goblin Poacher
Goblin Robber
Goblin Reaper
Labyrinth Leech
Makara

Goblin's Leech

Go to the large room where Bune spawns. When he is not around the area is great. Obviously, if you see Bune, run away. He uses Draw-In and will aggro you. Odds are, since his spawn time is 23-24 hours, you won't see him. In levels 48 to 49, you will most likely be fighting your way through decent challenges and even matches. Though there are few toughs rarely it's still very worth it and a lot easier then heading to Crawler's Nest or Labyrinth of Onzozo. This area can be good through lvl 52 if you either grind through DC mobs or start fighting the Goblin's Leech from the higher tier goblins. This can be very dangerous so be sure to keep reraise up when doing this. Make sure the goblin shepherd is facing away from you and the leech before pulling it. Also a ranged weapon will make this much easier and safer.
48-50 Labyrinth of Onzozo

Labyrinth Leech

Cockatrice
Goblin Poacher
Goblin Robber
Goblin Reaper

Go to the passageway just past the first room when entering from Buburimu Peninsula. Watch out for Air Elemental. This area is more for the partying BST where as soloing can almost guarantee a death at one point.Make sure to be keep an eye for your surrounding. sound and sight aggro. Many goblins are crowded together in the room mentioned above so it's smart to have someone to watch your back.
48-52 Western Altepa Desert

Desert Beetle
Desert Dhalmel

Desert Beetle
Cactuar

Go to Revelation Rock and find the book on the northern side and grab page 3. At first, beetles will mostly be T, but there are enough that are DC and EM. Watch out for Cactuar and Anticans that aggro by sound.
49-52 East Ronfaure (S)

Colibri
Ladybug

Djinn

Best for duo or trio action. If soloing, it may take up to 10 pet swaps, although pet food may reduce the number of swaps. Make sure to stay out of the range of Nocturnal Combustion. There are 3 pixies that roam in the area.

NOTE: Once BST is level 48, subbing Scholar allows it access to all the elemental nukes while retaining healing. Let your pet hit the Djinn a few times then cast the elemental nuke that matches the day (Firesday = Fire, etc.) to give the Djinn 100% TP. Chances are, you can trigger it to explode faster, making this camp even easier.

Note: This camp can be very hard sometimes due to the Seeing Spots quest and lots of people killing the Ladybug in the area. Also at lv 50 and fighting Djinn for over an hour, not a single one had self-destruct and they checked as VT which resultet in very long fights with no chains.

Additional: I went here duo at 46-49. As levels passed by self-destruct became less frequent, but still going good at 48. Go /NIN for elemental wheel, since the bombs aggro magic but not Ninjitsu. Go /RDM on lightsday for Dia (fast recasts), and take a break on darksday (too much hate from those spells).

49-54 Crawlers' Nest

Labyrinth Lizard
Soldier Crawler
Witch Hazel(50+)
Exoray(52+)
Blazer Beetle(52+)

Labyrinth Lizard
Exoray
Blazer Beetle
Hornfly
Rumble Crawler
(52+)

Go to the two rooms at H/I-8 and H-7 on this map. Lizards link and aggro and detect by sound. Pulling to the path connecting the two rooms is recommended. This place is aggravating when trying to pull so be very careful. Also this is a very difficult place to camp at level 49 because almost everything checks Tough at this camp. There is also the basement of Crawler's Nest where the Soldier Crawler is the perfect pet to start with. You will fight flies, Soldier Crawlers, and Exoray if you are adventurous. At around 51-52 you can use Exoray as pets and begin fighting Blazer Beetles and even the occasional Mushussu. Be careful with the Exoray as a pet or fighting, as they have TP moves than can one shot you easy (which is why it is such a great pet). Rumble crawlers can be fought too, but they do link as always, and the only place they are located is in a small room all huddled together.

The camp site is behind the Mythril Beastcoin door (H-11 (map 1)) at J-5 (map 3). Beware Hydro Shot - it resets hate. Convert the Sahagin Parasite to DC or EM before you start. 1 DC Sahagin Parasite will easily take out em or tough Sahagin. Watch out for Rock Crab, at lvl52 they are VT and require 2 Sahagin Parasite to defeat them
53-55 Bostaunieux Oubliette

Dark Aspic

Werebat

(F-10) on the map is a safe camp, two Dark Aspics spawn, as well as Werebats. You can charm Dark Aspics at entrance and fight your way to camp gaining some pretty good XP on the way. The Dark Aspic does not despawn so keep the Dark Aspic near the second corner but not there, maybe in the middle away from the other Dark Aspic; so if you're fighting with your pet, and your prey is in low health, move away from the charmed Dark Aspic, near the haunt in the second corner not close, and leave. Good luck and safe hunting!

Note: Werebats do not link just aggro. Also jellies tend to discharm when fighting a VT, and hard to re-charm again, though with both Beast Gaiters and Beast Gloves, as well as the Charm boost from the Light Staff or Apollo's Staff, it tends to work out perfectly. Please remember to sneak up before entering.

55-58 Toraimarai Canal

Dark Aspic
Makara
Bloodsucker

Impish Bats
Fleshcraver
Canal Pugil

Pull a Familiared Dark Aspic from the lower level areas to the Windurst Walls exit. This zone best for duo and trio beastmaster groups. When Familiar is down, you will be using more in Bloodsucker and Makara pets. Bloodsuckers have an "Additional Effect: Plague" in their attacks. Sneak pulling is required.
55-60 Garlaige Citadel

Funnel Bats
Chamber Beetle
Acid Grease

Hellmine
Chamber Beetle
Fallen Mage
Fallen Major(57+)
Magic Jug(58+)

Camp in the basement. Send beetles or bats against the VT and IT bombs, stay back, and let them Self-Destruct. Beware, they will often to +2000 damage if they Self-Destruct early in the fight, so be sure to stay out of range. Chains into 400+ exp are very doable solo at this level. Acid Grease may be used (and will often hold their own against Hellmines), but you will need to bring a Light Staff and go past Gate 1, charm them, stealth up, and drop in a hole near Gate 2 to fall into the basement. From 59-60, it is still possible to bring in 300+ exp per fight from Hellmines. Hellmines also drop the Coffer key which is needed for Bst af Head. Subbing Ninja seems to be the easiest thing to do for this camp, because while you are swapping pets on some of the Hellmines that refuse to blow up, you can take a few swings between the swap.
57-59 Quicksand Caves

Helm Beetle

Antican Princeps
Antican Hastatus
Antican Signifer
Helm Beetle

There are three beetles that spawn soon as you walk into the (J-9) entrance from Western Altepa Desert. These three pets should be enough to kill all the Anticans you want, though there are a few more beetles in the large room down the ramp. Princeps can be a pain with their Cure IV spells so try to Silence them, though as BST, they are a bit resistant to the WHM subbed Enfeebling Magic. There is also the problem with Jamming Wave used by the Anticans, so bring a long plenty of Echo Drops. Most of the mobs around here range from DC to T so its not the best XP, but should hold you off for a little while if you don't have Toraimarai Canal access.
58-61 Uleguerand Range

Variable Hare

Snoll
Uleguerand Tiger
Esbat
Glacier Eater

Avoid this camp if you can! I didn't read that advice at the end so I tried this camp and it really sucks so for the rest of you I put it again at the beginning. Prey is mostly Snoll at 58. Variable Hares don't link nor aggro, and is easy to charm T's. Once you hit 59, follow the right-hand wall at the zone until you get to the first tunnel entrance. There are two rabbits here, convert them to Even Match and kill everything else that moves. This is a not a good camp. There are few rabbits to charm, and the aggro from the Tigers is very problematic. Avoid this camp if you can.
57-60 Meriphataud Mountains (S)

Lynx
Dragonfly

Lynx
Dragonfly

Prey is mostly Lynx. Lynx are around level 50, and they're spread out quite well. Using Sigil, Emperor's Ring, and Solo for the exp bonuses makes hunting Lynx a very good option. When you can charm decent challenge Dragonflies, lynx hunting becomes even easier! The even match dragonflies generally don't stay charmed long enough to be effective for hunting, but they're great at fighting other Dragonflies. Decent match dragonfly vs even match dragonfly is also very effective; as BLU/BST, the DC pet dragonflies only took 50% damage before the EM ones are defeated. Don't forget to get the handy "less exp loss" effect when using Sigil. It's easy to find the Lynx and Dragonflies anywhere in the north part of the map, between the Stronghold and the Cavernous Maw.

Tested w/ 58 BST: Exp Sucks. Lynx were getting me 100~ exp with emperor band on. Moved to flies and only netted 230 tops with chains and band on. Plus lots of rafflesia and terrain to slow you down. What a waste of time.

In depth: At 58, you'll be using Lynx vs Lynx. At 59, you can start doing EM Dragonfly vs EM Dragonfly. At 60+, you can start grabbing DC Dragonfly vs EP Lynx; these fights are incredibly fast, since Lynx will take 100-250 damage from the Dragonflies, and the exp just rolls in. There are various groups of 3-4 Lynx that are close to each other. An ideal spot will be around (G-5) and (G-6), once you hit 60; start by killing one Dragonfly near the road, then move north to hunt the Lynx. Ideally, the Lynx will be able to kill your Dragonfly pet off before Charm wears out, otherwise, just Leave it, or Stay it and get to a safe enough distance so that the uncharmed pet(s) won't aggro you.

Levels 61-70

Levels Area Pets Prey Additional Info
61-63 Boyahda Tree

Death Cap

Bark Spider

This is a tough camp at 60 - not many Even Matches, better to start at 61 if soloing (no problem duoing). Camp in the tunnels before the first pond. Spiders drop Boyahda Coffer Key for the map of the area. At 61 an Even Match Funguar will solo any Spider so think of this as aggressive Spider Web farming.
61-65 Caedarva Mire

Caedarva Leech [63-65]
Treant Sapling [61-64]
Marsh Murre [64-66]

Marsh Murre [64-66]

Use Sanction with Refresh for Refresh up to 65% that stacks with Gaudy Harness.

West Nashmau exit. One leech pops very near the zone, another on the other end of the pond. Convert leeches to EM and alternate between them. No chigoe from the zoneline to the start of the cemetery area. No aggro until the cemetary area.
61 - Use saplings to fight birds with 1 pet swap. Convert the saplings to EM.
63 - Use saplings and leeches to fight leeches and birds.
64 - Use saplings, leeches, and birds to fight birds, constant chain 4.
65 - Use leeches and birds to fight birds and imps (in the graveyard), slower exp, some birds DC.
North Nashmau exit. You can also try the camp by the large lake. There are chigoe there but they stay in very specific areas away from the lake.
East Nashmau exit. There are two more viable Leech/Sapling vs Murre/Imp camps on the eastern area of Caedarva. Source

62-63 Sea Serpent Grotto

Mousse
Robber Crab

Delta Sahagin
Lagoon Sahagin
Coastal Sahagin
Shore Sahagin

Go past the Gold Beastcoin door in SSG. Hope and pray that one of the Mousse's is Decent Challenge or Even Match. Either way, bring your Light Staff and be prepared to kite the Slime when you mis-charm. Note: If the slime is NOT DC or EM, you can use a jug to pull it out of its normal radius and then /logout. It'll despawn and you have a random chance to pop a Mousse of a different level.
62-63 Wajaom Woodlands

Worker Pephredo [62-64]

Lesser Colibri [63-65]

Camp at (I-7). With Empress Band and exp bonus from Sanction with Refresh, the experience rolls in extremely fast here, chain 4 is very common. Bees are very easy to convert to EM, but they do link on sight, try to charm one that is alone on one side of the hive to prevent links. Only the soldier bees aggro. Leeches and Marids do not aggro and bee pets don't have any AOE sic moves. The Colibris don't link or aggro, making this very safe and steady exp. Finish off a Colibri with Rampage and then immediately recharm your bee to keep it from despawning. Release it near the hive and charm another EM to keep the chains going. Source
62-65 Ifrit's Cauldron

Old Opo-opo
Volcano Wasp

Volcanic Gas

Depending on your Charm gear, opo-opo's will rock the bombs' worlds. Bring Pickaxes for the random Mining Point.
63-65 Cape Teriggan

Beach Bunny [62-65]

Goblin Bandit [65-68]
Goblin Alchemist [65-68]
Goblin Shepherd [65-68]
Goblin Mercenary [65-68]

Camp a little north of the outpost. Gobbies love exploding.
65-68 Wajaom Woodlands (H-10)(H-11){border} /(H-12)/(H-13)

Aht Urhgan Attercop
[65-67]
(linking, non-aggro)

Puk [68-70]
(sight/sound aggro, non-linking)

At 65 throw 2 bees at spiders. If fighting with bee you only need 1 bee and they will take it down far enough for you to kill the spider or they will kill each other, with your help. Puk's have fast attack rate and often spam fairly disruptive WS moves (one is AoE Flash, another is a 4 shadow Blink - this can be taken out with Diaga). For(H-11)Camp under the south stone arch near the water.Position yourself with your back to the stone arch or wall (or at the very least not in a position to get blown into an Ameretat (Ochu-type mob) by the Puk's knockback AoE damage move. For no chance of Ameretat encounters use camp at (H-12)-(H-13) Watch out for Haunt's At night. 200+ chains still possible even at 67. Source
65-69 Den of Rancor

Mousse
Cutlass Scorpion

Bifrons
Cave Worm
Tonberries

Follow a party or go yourself past both Granite Doors in the Temple of Uggalepih to get to the Den of Rancor. This Allakhazam thread has an in-depth guide to the camp.
66-67 Attohwa Chasm

Sand Lizard
Cutlass Scorpion

Corse
Trench Antlion
Tracker Antlion
Tomb Mage
Tomb Warrior

Corse are 66-68, but they drop Iolite for money. Camp is on the western side. Watch out for cracks in the ground: Trench Antlion love popping up and surprising you.
66-68 Pso'Xja

Dire Bat
Thousand Eyes
Snow Lizard

Dire Bat
Maledict Millstone
Diremite Assaulter
Snow Lizard

Enter Pso'Xja through (F-7) of Beaucedine Glacier. Cast Sneak and fall through either the (G-8) or (I-8) holes. In the (G-8) hole, charm Thousand Eyes and Dire Bats and fight Maledict Millstones and Dire Bats. In the (I-8) hole, charm Dire Bats and Snow Lizards and fight Diremite Assaulters, Dire Bats and Snow Lizards.
67-70 Uleguerand Range

Polar Hare
Succubus Bats

Nightmare Bats
Akselloak

Go to the north open part of map. Take path from eastern tunnel, invis/sneak up. Walk west past ahriman and taurus enemies. fall through hole to lower tunnel network. There are two bomb and one bat spawns to the east of the drop point. Pull Bomb or Bat back to eastern tunnel - there will be a drop off to the original eastern tunnel for you to get more pets to finish off your prey.
68-71 Bhaflau Thickets

Red Kisser
Wajaom Tiger

Colibri

The main map (from Al Zahbi or Aht Urhgan Whitegate) around the pond at G-7/G-8.

  • Use Red Kisser vs. Colibri. Even Matches can usually take out Toughs, but it's safer to pet swap or duo. Pet food combined with "Enhances Reward effect" gives leeches that extra 450hp edge needed to solo with much fewer pet swaps. Thanks to the peculiar actions of Colibri (Casting spells back at you similar to reflect), you can cast Dia with White Mage subjob to effectively Stun/Paralyze the Colibri and reduce the need for pet swaps, even when using Even Match Red Kisser against Very Tough Colibri at level 68.

Wajaom Tiger from H-7 can also be used, if neccessary, but must be charmed using Light Staff. BST68/NIN34 was killing VT's without any pet swaps involved, ONLY if you help your pet and melee, I wasnt engaging till Colibri was down to below 90%, then I never got hate, saved Weaponskill (Rampage) until below 20%. I have very good gear for my Melee which may also be a reason for Non-Pet swaps. Overall a great place to level.

68-71 Bhaflau Thickets

Treant Sapling
Incubus Bats

Colibri
Olden Treant

The main map (from Al Zahbi or Aht Urhgan Whitegate) in the narrow passageway at F-6/F-7.

69-71 Ifrit's Cauldron

Nightmare Bats

Volcanic Bomb

Find your way to the part of the map that looks like a reversed capital "E". There are 4 bat spawns here and 6 bomb spawns here. Bats will be 68-72, bombs will be 71-78. Bats are very easily charmed, even as T. They also don't last very long against the bombs. By level 69 you should know this, but remember to stay clear of Self-Destruct! 15 Minute respawn timer for the bombs.
69-72 Meriphataud Mountains (S)

Scolopendrid

Goblin Paratrooper
Goblin Field Doctor
Goblin Bombardier

Quickest way to camp from OP is by heading straight to (D-7), there is a cave that leads to (E-8) right by the flank of your Scorpion pets which are lvl68-70. There is also one stray Scorpion nearer to the Goblins at (F-8) which makes it a great swap pet when necessary. The Goblins are lower in number on the path under the dragon spine, but they respawn fast enough that no one Bst can keep em all down at a time, making them very easy pulls with minimal risk. The only risk you should watch out for is doing any form of Dia pulls on a Goblin Bombardier, as they will welcome you with ancient magic in return. Best results are shown at 70, as all the scorpions are dct or em. Alla lists the Goblins as 71-73 but at 70 some may check as VT and you may get as much as 240 exp per kill without a chain. Pets are very capable of one petting the mobs given your two pennies, and though I have not had a single issue yet, if things get messy, run behind your pets at (E-8) and theres another cave that zones into Fort Karugo-Narugo S. ALSO, this camp appears to be undiscovered, as even alla does not have the scorpions level range listed. This camp will only sustain one Bst but the odds of seeing another Bst competing with you are slim to none! Happy Hunting. ~DrakeDevil (Fenrir)
69-72 Boyahda Tree

Moss Eater
Mourioche

Elder Goobbue
Steelshell

For the best XP, fight with a trio of BSTs. You can duo here but it can be rough finishing off the mobs.
69-73 Caedarva Mire (J-8)

Wild Karakul
Oil Slick

Jnun

At levels 69-70 Wild Karakul should be your primary pets. At level 71 use the Oil Slicks. With Karakul you will need to swap once per fight, so it is best to engage with your second pet only to avoid high levels of hate on the swap. Oil Slicks will often survive the fight. At 73 some Jnun will spawn DC, but overall the camp still offers nice XP. There's a Water Elemental that surrounds the pond, and while it is easily avoidable, exercise caution when it rains.

70-73 Pashhow Marshlands (S)

Lou Carcolh
Mousse
Electrumcap
Gadfly

Mythril Quadav
Elder Quadav

The camp is near the area that campaign battles take place. The quadavs are in the 71-74 range, the Gadflies in the 65-67 range, and the other pets in the 70-72 range. It is best to duo from 70-72, and solo 72-73 with one pet swaps. Word of caution: Silver Quadavs are thief mobs, and may take 2 or 3 pet swaps due to their very high evasion; and the other quadavs are RDM, PLD, and WHM jobs and cure spamming can prolong fights. You may have to use a Gadfly or a jug pet to pull your desired pet to a safer area to charm, as everything but snippers and gadflies are aggressive to sound.
71-75 Bibiki Bay

Tragopan

Hobgoblin Fascinator
Hobgoblin Venerer
Hobgoblin Martialist
Hobgoblin Animalier
Catoblepas

There is a ledge with 4 Tragopan spawn locations early on. This is your zoo. Goblin levels are 72-75/76. Watch for competition from local parties. Given the right subjob (DNC works well), Catoblepas can be solo-ed comfortably with up to 1 pet swap, starting with level 74.
72-74 The Boyahda Tree

Korrigan(72-75)

Elder Goobbue
Steelshell

This place is typically heavily camped, but typically theres still a few Goobs out and usually there are at least 2 Korrigans available to convert to EM, reccomended duo 72-74 but it is also soloable. Try to stick to Tough Elder Goobbues and Steelshells, fights are fairly easy just make sure your pet is rested. While soloing you may find it more competative and thus less chains, however, this is still one of our better known options for this level.
72-74 Aydeewa Subterrane

Aydeewa Diremite(73-75)

Aydeewa Diremite

They are in rooms around the pool used for the Blue Mage quest, An Empty Vessel. You should find this to be a low competition area close to the main city.
72-75 Ru'Aun Gardens

Flamingo

Sprinkler
Groundskeeper
Flamingo

Beastmaster heaven. Flamingo don't aggro, Sprinkler aggro only to magic. Nothing links. Watch out for Groundskeeper's "Meltdown" move. (The Groundskeepers that roam are not aggressive on sight, just to magic. The ones that stand on the blue lights are aggressive all the time). I used White Mage sub job here. It worked well just have to watch out for magic aggro. Dancer would probably work well. Ninja didn't work that well for me at 72 because of Blaze Spikes on the Sprinkler.
73-74 Mount Zhayolm

Magmatic Eruca
Assassin Fly

Sicklemoon Jagil
Magmatic Eruca

Camp at (L-8). Careful of Phasma at nighttime. Use Magmatic Eruca vs Sicklemoon Jagil. You'll get a variety of pops anywhere from DC Eruca to T Eruca. Try to convert the nearby 2 Eruca to DC or EM before chaining. One Eruca will be plenty for a Jagil. Easy chain 4, great camp until 74.
75 Boyahda Tree

Korrigan(72-75)

Elder Goobbue

Call it "Farming with XP on the side". Camp is under the waterfall to Cloister of Storms. An EM Korrigan should tear through any of the Goobues at this level.
75 La Vaule (S)

Fighting Smilodon(75-78)
La Vaule Pugil(73-74)
Mariehene(71-73)
War Lizard(71-73)

Seneschal Imp
Fighting Smilodon
Orcs

Tigers don't link but are very charm resistant (Gauge about 130 CHR) and have keen sight aggro. The camp at L-10 is better for pulling Imps, but you may have to convert the 2 tigers there and the 3 tigers at J-10 to Even Match. The Pugils in the river to the West of J-10 make good pets as well and great for when you want to pet swap. There's only 2 Imps at this camp.

If you want more Imps there's more at H-8, but they're surrounded by IT Orcs and may be dangerous to pull.
