Notes[]

  • +25% movement speed over normal goblins while "patrolling." Once they aggro or are pulled, they walk at normal chasing speed. They appear in pairs, with patrols closely following the outline of the coast, and are roughly the same strength as mobs in their vicinity.
  • Apparently Goblin Bounty Hunters are territorial, and will aggro within seconds of anyone getting near the coast as long as they are the appropriate level requirements. You must stand fairly close to the coast to gain aggro.
  • Respawn time seems to be ~5 minutes.
  • Is still susceptible to a form of MPK as it does not depop when someone changes areas.

Background[]

The name Bounty Hunter is probably a reference to individuals in the Old West who went after wanted outlaws who had a price ("bounty") on their heads. In FFXI, fishbotters, or low-level characters who use third-party tools to fish unattended, frequently with the intent of using their earnings to fund real money trades (RMT), could be considered those "outlaws".
