Any reason why a DRK59 wouldn't be able to use this if they got merits on scythe? They have skill 200 but no WS. -Zekky; Asura

This is a good question. Gaining access through WSes early because of merits is an imperfect art.

Are you sure the character in question has a natural Scythe Skill over 200? (so it would have shown the message [CharName learns "Guillotine"!] at some point.) If need be, it may be nessicary to skill Scythe up until the cap for the job the merits were applied as. --Taeria Saethori 00:33, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

You are able to learn Weapon Skills early with merits. If your character has not learned the weapon skill, but has the necessary skill to use it. You will be unable to use the weaponskill until you logout/login, or change zones. --User:Saithorx September 2008 (UTC)

Even if it doesn't display in your menu, you can still use it by typing /ws "Guillotine" <t>. --Raen Ryong 20:56, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

I thought so too, but I received the message that I was unable to use the Weaponskill. When I zoned, it appeared in my menu. Can anyone confirm their experiences with this?--User:Saithorx September 2008 (UTC)

To use a Weapon skill early, due to merits, you must UNEQUIP the weapon and reequip it, and it will show up on your list.. I have lots of experience with merited skills Rinnsi 22:24, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

I learned Guillotine at 59DRK by meriting scythe skill as well, but I didn't have to zone or reequip, and I didn't get 200 skill and the "you learned Guillotine" message. It just kind of seems like a semi-glitch and it works out differently for everyone. --Shuffie 17:52, August 31, 2010 (UTC)
