Lets talk about NIN TP gain a little bit. This is pulled from the Tactical Points portion of this wiki: The Dual Wield trait allows players to equip two weapons simultaneously and reduce their Delays. TP gain when dual wielding is calculated using this reduced Delay:
- Combined Delay = (Delay1 + Delay2)
- Reduced Delay = Combined Delay * (1 - Dual Wield %)
- Reduced Delay per hand = Reduced Delay/2
If they do not, calculating the TP using the Reduced Delay/2 will give you an incorrect result.
So based on this lets look at a lv 95 Ninja with Dual Wield V wearing a Suppaonomimi (a bonus of -40% Delay) using a lv95 Sekka with 201 delay and a Kamome with 180 delay.
- Combined Delay : 201 + 180 = 381
- Reduced Delay : 381 * (1-0.40) = 229
- Reduced Delay per hand : 229/2 = 114 delay
- TP gain per hand : 5.0 + [(114 - 180) * 1.5] / 180 = 5.05... 5 TP/hit
Now that we have our base TP, lets add in the Store TP off Kakka: Ichi
- Store TP Formula
- Base TP * (1 + StoreTP%)
- Extra TP : 5* (1 +0.10) = 5.5 TP/hit
Keep in mind that this calculation does not include haste, which reduces a weapon delay further. If we add in a full 25% haste off eq to this here is what happens
- Combined Delay : 201 + 180 = 381
- Reduced Delay : 381 * (1-.040) * (1-.025) = 172
- Reduced Delay per hand : 172/2 = 86 delay
- TP gain per hand : 5.0 + [(86 - 180) * 1.5] / 180 = 4.56... 4.5 TP/hit
And once again, add in Kakka: Ichi
Extra TP : 4.5* (1 +0.10) = TP/hit = 4.95 .... 4.9 TP/hit
(Preceding statement struck as haste does not reduce TP/hit. Maxeon 23:26, November 1, 2011 (UTC))
I'm not trying to say that Kakka: Ichi is bad, just that Store TP is not quite as good for a Dual Wielding Ninja as it is for a job using a two handed weapon. Because of Ninja's job traits (Dual Wield V and Subtle Blow) and all the Haste equipment available to Ninja, Store TP is not near as effective. It does get you to 100% TP faster, if only by a swing or two. With a good Store TP equipment build this spell has real potential, but on it's own it is severely lacking.
