"An update in 2007/2008 changed how manafont can be used. It now no longer makes the casting of spells uninterruptable by melee damage. This change was not noted in any update details." (Tribal Prophet) Can someone please confirm this? --Ariant 19:56, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

I don't know of any update about that. Only thing I could find was: 2003 - (12/16/2003) Update Details "While using the job ability "Manafont", black mages will no longer have their spell casting interrupted when taking damage. However, spell casting will still be affected by status effects such as Stun and Silence." Maybe the person was stunned and assumed he could be interrupted by physical damage now. --Kudos 20:45, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

Taking the line down until someone shows proof of this happening. --Ariant 20:47, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

I was fighting aquarius just now and was trying to cast burst II when interrupted by being hit by him while under the effect of manafont. I was not moving as I had moved out of range and was waiting still for the gravitied aquarius to come into casting range. As I said, it was not listed in any update details, so was either ninja edited by SE or else was part of an older update they retro-changed by accident like 'sneak attack will only work from the front now'. It has happened to me before on occasion. I will try to take a video of the fights to see if it happens again. --Tribal Prophet 21:14, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

BLM's FC[]

This is typically done in Abyssea and may work else where. You need a high amount of Azure Lights so that you will get ISLs (intense soothing lights) from blue chests. These Don't only restore your HP, MP, and cap TP, but they also resets your job abilities, including 1-hour.

First you have someone who's on a somewhat unsquishy job gather mobs and pull them back to you on BLM. Then you use Manafont and Mana Wall in conjunction so you can cast spells without cost to save MP for absorbing damage. The spells you want to use are your high damage aja and aga spells. With Atma of the Beyond that would be Ice. Blizzaja, Blizzaga III, and Firaga III usually do the trick.

Be careful that the puller doesn't collect to many mobs or they will eat right through your MP despite the -50% damage reduction from Mana Wall.
