Walkthrough[]
- Must have completed Cid's Secret and The Usual quests (Bastok Reputation 5 required).
- Touch the door labled Amchuchu's Laboratory in the Inventors' Coalition for a cutscene with Amchuchu.
- You must wait until the next game day after finishing Vegetable Vegetable Crisis.
- Talk to Raibaht at Metalworks (G-8) in Cid's Lab for a cutscene.
- Head to (G-8) on the 3rd floor of the Palborough Mines (you can take the home point) and touch the Peculiar Fissure for a cutscene.
- During the cutscene, you will be given a list of actions. Repeat them until you get the message "Your hand hurts." Once this happens, the option "Think" will appear in the list of actions. Choosing this will end the cutscene and you can continue to the next step.
- Return to Raibaht for a cutscene.
- Head to (I-5) by the Waterfront Waypoint in Western Adoulin and click the Contemplation Site (I-5) for a cutscene. Midras will ask for a Sabiki Rig.
- Trade a Sabiki Rig to the Contemplation Site for a cutscene and receive a Packet of Midras's Explosives.
- Return to the Peculiar Fissure (G-8) Palborough Mines for a cutscene.
- Touch again to battle the Bomb NM Incensed Pineapple.
- Alter Egos may be called before touching.
- The party will be placed under Level Restriction status.
- All party members must be on or have beaten this fight to help.
- You have 15 minutes to complete this battle.
- Strategy
- If the bomb uses Self-Destruct, you fail the battle.
- At 1 HP, the bomb will attempt to use Self-Destruct, but will then fall to the ground without using it. It will stay at 1 HP until doing this, so there's no need to stun it.
- The bomb must be kept dispelled, otherwise it will self-destruct. It will use blaze spikes and berserk; if these are left on for more than a few seconds, it will use self-destruct!
- Self-Destruct is triggered as a counter-measure if Incensed Pineapple HP drops too fast, preventing massive zergs or conduit strats. In fact, a SMN conduiting the NM right from the start will eventually trigger Self-Destruction pretty early in the burn, while a controlled low-medium DPS will have little to no problem in this fight.
- While Self-Destruct is more related to how fast the NM dies, keeping it dispelled is essential because it has very high magic attack, dropping almost 90% of Amchuchu's HP in a single Fire V, what would be expected in high Lv NM in game, and not a quest NM. That's a hint that you need to keep it dispelled so the NM will constantly recast Blaze-Spike and Berserk, making it pretty much harmless in terms of danger.
- Trust: Koru-Moru, Trust: Arciela II, Trust: Ajido-Marujido, and Trust: Ovjang all have Dispel.
- If the bomb uses Self-Destruct, you fail the battle.
(see testimonials)
- If you fail, you must trade another Sabiki Rig to the Contemplation Site for a new Packet of Midras's Explosives.
- After the battle, touch the Peculiar Fissure for a cutscene and the key items Tarnished Ring and Rusty Locket.
- Return to Raibaht in the Metalworks for a cutscene. You will lose the Tarnished Ring.
- Return to the Contemplation Site for another cutscene. You will lose the Rusty Locket and obtain the 2k bayld reward.
- Finally, go back to Amchuchu's Door in the Inventors' Coalition and obtain your brand new Midras's Helm +1.
